The Tikbalang is a creature from Philippine folklore that is said to lurk the forests and mountains of the region. It has the head and hooves of a horse coupled with a humanoid body. It is said that they are tricksters who like to lead humans astray. While other account paint them as benevolent guardians of elemental kingdoms.
My focus on the piece is the guardian aspect of the tikbalang. Standing guard and waiting with his giant tobacco keeping his kingdom safe with his anting anting.
