Pharaoh

Hey everyone I thought I’d post a WIP image of my pharaoh bust. I want to refine the head-piece a little more. I also want to add some more clothing pieces around his neck. I wanted to give the feeling that this guy is part snake, hence the scalyness of his forehead nose, does it read as person that’s part snake?

Thanks.

i like your model, its strangely between semi realistic and cartoony.
about the snake thing, i don’t see it to be honest. maybe you should change the shape of the nose or skull a bit to be more snake like.
remember that scene in the original Conan movie where Thulsa Doom changes into a snake, that might help.
you could take the head, totally make it snake like on a layer and then turn the layer down about half and see what that does.
the scales could use more definition if that’s all you want to go off of.
lastly the chin facial hair looks more like a tumor growth than hair, its too integrated.
i hope to see more.:+1:

hy EricD,

spaceboy412 made a few comments that I agree with.

I’d like to say that, my feel is, that the whole model looks like it’s blured. Mainly it’s because of his crown. I suppose it’s painted texture, and it looks blured. Also, making a few key hard lines wont hurt, just to give a little bit of regimentality to the crown, and the head.

About scaly forehead; scales can be seen, but you have to look at it for a bit. This is where I agree with spaceboy412. Make these scales clearer, so they may be seen with ease.

And the beard needs changing :). It looks good, rather acceptable. With due respect, try to implement hair in other applications, or even in ZBrush (here’s that nice plug-in :small_orange_diamond: link), or sculpt hair in ZBrush with helpful tips in this tutorial :small_orange_diamond: link,

Happy ZBrushing,
