Perspective turning on when I pick up a Tool in the projection master [resolved]

Has anybody else had this happen?

I’m having an issue in 3.5R3 when I use the projection master. I always make sure the Perspective is turned off before entering Projection Master. But, whenever I pick the tool back up the perspective button is automatically turning on and causing the projections to project through my mesh at odd angles instead of shooting straight through like it should when perspective is turned off.

i remember someone else posting about this, i think i found some strange workaround but i can’t remember what it was, i think it was like turn perspective on when entering Pm but don’t do any PM work, leave PM then go back into it, something like that, try a search, i’ll see if i can find the tread.

okay here’s the thread, maybe some of the other users advice will help, and as i said i let it make the mistake or something, there is a way to get it to work i think.

Nah, that didn’t help Spaceboy… Thanks though

I found a workaround… It seemed to be tied to one specific subtool, the other subtools in the file worked just fine when getting processed through projection master. So what i did was Make PolyMesh 3D from the offending subtool then appended the newly generated mesh to my subtool list and deleted the old one. The new one takes projections fine.

Nevermind, I thought that fixed it. It worked for about 5 or 6 projections but now it’s back to doing the same **** again. gragh

Same problem here. Just another great 3.5 feature.

Come on Pixologic we need hot fixes for all these bugs!

This is related to the saved file. If the ztool is saved with perspective ON, then PM will switch it on when picking up. If perspective is off when the ztool is saved then PM behaves as expected (indeed, will switch off perspective if it was on when the tool was dropped).

Solution - save the file with perspective OFF.
