Hi All,
Is it best to leave perspective turned off if you plan to create a model for prototyping? Perspective seems to distort quite a bit, is the non perspective view accurate for what you will get on print out?
Thanks,
Barbara

Your best bet is to take it into Maya. I’ve output literally hundreds of models (I make action-figure prototypes), and ZBrush is very deceptive. I do all my sculpting in ZBrush, but I always check it elsewhere. Play with the amount of perspective in ZBrush and you can get something that approximates reality. Believe it or not, the view without perspective is the MOST distorted.
Thanks, I am an action figure sculptor too. Up till now I’ve been working traditionally in castilene and wax, and doing the occasional accessory in Rhino.
I’ve been practicing a lot with ZBrush recently, and also trying to decide between Maya and Freeform. I’ve been leaning towards Maya because the price seems so much more reasonable, but am a little intimidated by the learning curve. I suppose I could just focus on modelling to start with and not worry too much about animation or rendering.
Anyway thanks for the information,
Barbara
