Perspective on or off?

First of all, i I didn’t find a specific category in the zbc forum to post this question…

So, maybe a very noob question, but hey, we all start there :stuck_out_tongue:

My plan is to sculpt things in zbrush based on reference images, I will render in zbrush too, so I’m not using the things that I make in zbrush in other programs.
When I’m sculpting, do i sculpt with perspective on or off??, I searched the internets for this question and some say to leave it off, but some say to use both perspective and orthographic view, but that I find a bit strange… ?

Thanx !

perspective view is what human see in real world,i love to work with, however, what i tell zbrush many time but it still no change is the brush problem.many brush cannot work with perspective view such as clipbrush, slice or trim, mask…etc.

so you still need to turn off perspective view.i hope this can be fixed in zbrush 5.

Ow, i think I get it, so when doing normal sculpting I use perspective, but if i want to mask something or so, i use non perpective?

you should turn off pv while you are making any change… you can test it youselt, turn on pv and use clip brush to clip somewhere, you will found that the cutting direction always forward to the selection center, not the vanishing point…
