Hi again (and thanks for previous help, i’m slowly learning :smiley: )

I was just wondering about fine tuning my performance settings. I’ve read a few threads on the subject, but they were pretty old and i was wondering if anything has changed in later updates.

So i have 4gb of ram and i read that windows xp doesn’t allocate more than 2gb to any program. So i’m to assume that 2000mb is the max my ‘compact mem’ should be at?

Also i tested the multiprocessing and it said that it is recommended, how do i go about permanently changing it?

Also how do you change the default settings? they keep reverting back to the old ones.

If you have a 32-bit version of Windows, Compact Mem should be at 2000. If you have a 64-bit version, then with 4 GB of RAM you can set Compact Mem to about 3000.

MultiDraw and MultiRender are enabled by default if you have a multi-core or multi-CPU system.

Saving your settings is done by pressing Ctrl+Shift+I (the shortcut for Config>Store Config). Some settings are at the document level, though, rather than the interface level and so need a Startup Document. The online docs in my signature explain how to deal with this.
