Performance inquiry.

Hey there,
I am attempting to increase the performance of zbrush on my machine.

I upgraded my GPU to have a smoother workflow, but after making the upgrade, I was not able to see an improvement dynameshing, dividing polygons and even using clay build up did not significantly improve.

From your honest opinions, am I possibly not getting a performance increase because my machine is bottle necked by other components such as a low end CPU? (using dual core celeron, some REAL OLD CPU )

Or possibly, is dynamesh or divide a CPU intensive task over GPU intensive task?

Anything would help!
Thanks.

Zbrush makes a lot of use of your cpu. Dynameshing and subdividing all use your cpu. Very cpu intensive.

Thank you

As far as I know, the graphics card makes no difference at all, it’s all CPU. Although speed could be impacted by memory or main board speeds I guess too. Also making sure you have enough Memory and are running a 64bit OS will help when the scenes get a little bigger.
