Pepe Mora's Sketchbook

Hello guys
Im Pepe Mora special FX make up artist
I`d like to show you my new project about Wolfman desing, i hope to enjoy it
now i think that its ready to paint , but i dont know wich is the best material or matcap to start to paint it, and if somebody now a nice solution for sculpt the Hair could be great

Actually im playing with DAVID laserscaner, scanning plaster lifecasts for design first the make ups or projects in zbrush i hope to post some scanning in a few days

all the best guys Wolfman vistas.jpg

What’s up… Awesome Model - I think it’s a personal preference when using a matcap to polypaint over - My advise is to experiment - “The one you have looks good to me…” And as far as hair is concerned - It’s always been a thorn in my side…
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with…

Mora - Great work, really cool!, I also had a look at your portfolio, awesome stuff I really like the Barbarian guy.

When poly painting my stuff I tend to use a material with very little colour already in it so it does not influence my choices (like a ‘Basic material’ with the specular turned down), also I usually take my stuff into other packages to animate/render and the colour will look different there.

Use a start up material so it can be used with lights. basic material is good as stated above. Use the material menu at the top to change the diffuse lighting to get rid of the grey tones so u have a more white material to paint on. save the material when your happy with it. save it to C:\ zbrush\ zdata\ z material\ start up. and rename it so u dont save over your existing basic material. As long as u have assigned this material to yor sub tool and saved the tool after.it will load the new material to your model when u next launch zbrush. You will see it under the start up materials. hope this helps, ive been using it lately and pretty much making all my own materials for each sub tool now.

thank u very much guys, im trying to use the basic material , thanks soulty666 for ur reply, but im not very happy with my painting and no more export the file with perspective hahaaha,.

Thats pics its only a reference of course its WIP

id like to find some nice brushes pack to paint the hair in photoshop :stuck_out_tongue:

finished without hair , and the new project scaning a lifecast and the desing using this scan like reference.

That first monster looks like the one in “Conan the Destroyer”, in the mirrored room:

Great job man. I’m interested in the 3D scanner! Where did you get it from? How much does it coast.

Thanks buddy.

That’s probably the DAVID Laserscanner. It’s mainly a software where you’ll have to provide the setup yourself (the print of the back-plates, a laser-line and a camera).

It costs as much as you want and need for the detail of your sculpt.
