Pants+Seashell's

Hi guy’s I’m relatively new to Zbrush,I’ve played around with it a lot and made lot’s of textures with it but I want to start a bigger project now,I stumbled upon two problems though,I’ve tried several ways to model a clam(seashell) but it alway’s looked kinda bad and I wanted to ask how you guys would approach a model like that.
My second question if I could ask for that is how would you approach military trousers,I did the base mesh deleted it again though because it wasn’t as good looking as I wanted it to be so I thought perhaps I should ask for ideas before I start a new one.

Military Trousers

Load the Demo Soldier tool:

Delete all the subtools except for the first one (the guy’s body).
Go to Polygroups > Group visible
Delete lower subdivisions

  1. Using the select lasso and holding alt, select/hide all the polys that don’t look like pants:

Then delete hidden polys

  1. Start sculpting:
