paintstop trouble creating thumbnail (Solved!)

hi there,

thanks to the forum i have just solved the brush size problem.
but now when i try to load an image onto the canvas i always get an error warning.

i’ve already downloaded and copied the latest paintstop version to zbrush r2.

hope someone can help me.

The most likely explanation for this is something is wrong with your installation of PaintStop. Can you post a screenshot of your ZStartup/ZPlugs folder, showing the PaintStopData4 folder?

Thanks for the pic. There is not anything obviously wrong but I’ve just discovered that the Download Center version is the wrong one (it is 06 instead of 08). I will get this corrected ASAP but the version included in the ZBrush 4R2 installer is the correct version so you could do this:

  1. Delete the PaintStopData4 folder and its contents.
  2. Delete the PaintStop_4_06Win.zsc.
  3. Start the Windows Control Panel, choose Uninstall Programs and select ZBrush 4R2.
  4. Choose Change and then Repair.

This will reinstall the correct version of PaintStop.

hi marcus,
while i was following your steps to repair paintstop
i discovered a second and older version of PaintStop_4.zsc
in the ZPlugs folder.

i have just deleted this file and everything works proper again.
