Painting on 2 images/subtools with zapp?

Hi there!

Is it possible to have 2 or more sub objects and assign different textures (images) to them and then paint on both at the same time using Zapp?

I’m making low poly characters and need to paint on two separate objects at once to blend seams together. eg I am having to separate the hips and chest into two different objects. So I will need to paint skin textures onto both objects so they match when put back together in the game engine. The objects have overlapping UVs so can’t share a single texture.

cheers.

It’s not directly possible. That would defeat one of the the purposes of SubTools, which is to break the model up into chunks that your computer can handle.

What you can do is copy your Photoshop painting layer before you save the document and return to ZBrush. Once back in ZBrush and the model is picked up again, be careful not to rotate the model. Simply select another SubTool, and immediately go back into ZAppLink. Now paste your copied layer over the painting layer and merge down. Save the document and return to ZBrush.

ahha, thanks I should have thought of that.
I’ll give it a go!

cheers!
