Painting bump maps - dumb question??

hello,

i’ve seen all the video out there but i don’t understand one thing… i’m trying to texture a lizard that has some “geometrical” details… i got my brushes from photos and they work but after a while they star to overlap and blur (i’m using bot plane3d and directional brush tool with a radial fading alpha) and this is no good cause after a while i start loosing all the details.

it’s more than two weeks that i’m trying but i really can’t get good results.

can someone help me???

A bump map is just another texture, and so is under the same rules that any other texture painting. Check out my Precision Texturing Part 2 tutorial (found in the Tutorials forum).

but i’d already checked that one…
i’m trying to make a seamless texture with this alpha/texture… have you got any hint??? maybe a better tool than the deco/directional brush…
