Painting a custom texture onto 3d Object

I can not find any info on this, but I’m sure it’s possible within Zbrush.

I imported a custom tile-able texture that I want to paint over a 3D plane or object. I don’t want to file the canvas with it just paint certain spots and combine other textures to paint other spots etc…

However I can’t seem to attach the texture to the brush. All I get is the texture filing my canvas.

If someone could lead me in the right direction I would be grateful.

Thanks.

Which version of ZBrush are you using? Being able to use textures with sculpting brushes came with version 3.12. If you’re using the trial version you will need to use Projection Master to drop the model. Then you can use one of the 2.5D brushes (in the Tool palette) to paint on it – such as the Directional Brush. If you’ve purchased a license and are still using an older version like 3.1 you need to upgrade.

I am using the Trial Version. I figured out how to paint my texture onto my document using Projection Master and the Directional Brush.

Howerver when I pick up my document everything dissappears!

Basically what I have done is create a rock looking Tool saved the tool created a 1024 x1024 document and started filling the screen with the Rock Model over and over again, Then I did the offset thing to draw more rocks over the seams to create a tileable texture.

However after I go into projection master to color and texture and add more detail …everything dissappears after except what looks like the first Rock model/tool I drew?

Any help would be great!
