Painting a Clean Mask?

Hi

Is there a way to paint a mask that will lead to cleaner deformations? When you paint a mask it fades at the edges causing a gradual falloff

In the attached picture I have created a mask on a sphere and inflated

The top deformation is with the default brush, the bottom one is with the focal shift set to the sharpest setting but neither of them create a sharp edge

I am looking to cut down on the jaggy edges, you cant smooth them away as this smooths down the deformation.

Is there a way to paint masks with a hard edged brush? not just the default round brush?

your masks res .is relative to your mesh res .so you 'll only get a real smooth edge at real high resolutions ( poly counts ) .maybe you 're not working with enough polys ?
