Paint through

I’m painting a fish model that has a mouth and stomach. All of my polygons are pointing the right way. When I paint the body, the body color goes through to the stomach and mouth color. When I try to paint the mouth, the mouth color goes through to the outside body. Why and/or what can I do to keep this from happening?

Thanks

Cal

Sounds like your normals might be inverted, but I can’t really tell anything without a picture. Normals can be flipped in the Display palette of the Tool menu, but I can’t say thats what’s happening without getting a better look at your issue.

try backface masking in the brush palette.
you’re not painting in projection master are you?

Thanks for the quick response. I did check the normals and the turned out to not be the problem. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the quick response. You were correct. The backface masking switch in the brush palette was the magic bullet and you just made my day.
Thanks again.
