paint in crevices

is there a way to just paint in crevices or NOT in the crevices, like mud box?

thanks

In the brush palette there is an option for Auto Masking. You can set the cavity mask settings to either paint in the cavity or on the peaks.

Sometimes I find Zbrush and I have different ideas about what constitutes a “cavity”. Depending on the nature of the model and what you’re trying to do, you may also find generating an ambient occlusion mask in the masking palette helpful for different kinds of results, in some situations. This is CPU intensive at higher mesh resolutions though, so best to preview your results on a low res mesh (in flat render mode)first till you’re happy with it, and then move up subD levels for painting.

thanks guys
