Pablo Picasso Hyperreal Silicone Sculpture by Jamie Salmon

I`d like to share with you, the recently completed Hyperreal silicone sculpture “Pablo Picasso”. It was a large scale portrait, and comprised of materials such as Silicone rubber, Human hair and Resin. The production process also involved the use of Zbrush!
Here are some pictures from the process. Even though cnc milling was employed to scale up the sculpture to the large size and give the basic forms, the clay sculpture itself along with all the fine surface detail was 100% sculpted by hand. A huge credit also goes to Jackie K.Seo for all the hair work.

There are higher res photos of this work and also a short video of the production process on the website: http://www.avatarsculptureworks.com

Enjoy!!

This was one of the reference photos used and shows the approximate age and expression for the portrait

The life size clay study that would act as the basis for the large scale work. This was scanned into the computer where further refinements were made in Zbrush, before being milled in foam.

Holy smokes. That’s both crazy (in an amazing way of course), and cool at the same time. What a great way of intertwining traditional and digital media. Congrats on the out come.

Great and inspirational work. Just breathtaking.

That’s amazing work. The scale on that thing is crazy–I’m pretty sure it would scare the hell out of me in real life. Definitely not the kind of thing you want to open a door and be surprised by

Extraordinary work! Love the impact of large scale! Kudos! Checked out your website: awesome work! Best wishes going forward!

Just went through your website - beautiful work!

Beautiful

Picasso would be proud!
