p_hairTK + Shave and Haircut

anyone can help me please, im trying to use phair_TK with shave and haircut, here what i do :
1.create hair with shave and haircut
2.on the shave globals i switch to render Hair Primitives
3.i also turn off the override geometry shader on shave Tab
4.assign the p_hairTK
5.render

it works ! the color change BUT the raytrace shadow of the hair really a mess ! and i see (really bad)flickering on the tip if i turn off the raytrace shadow it looks fine,but now the hair doesnt have any shadows and it looks really flat

im searching the web how to use p hair_TK with shave and haircut but i couldnt find any, i found the djx blog it works great but it can only be applied to a fur…

btw i render it with maya mentalRay.

actually i ask on other site too,
the reason i ask here is because i see lot folks here
use shave and haircut with puppet shader.
so i think its a reasonable question to ask here.

I’m not in front of my home PC at the moment, but I’m pretty sure you override the shadow shader as well. There should be a thing called p_hairTKShadow or something like that.

hey thanks, i have tried the way you suggested.it helps a little bit.
at least now i have the control of the shadow transparency.
