Out of Alignment- how to get back to perpendicular

Hi Everyone- new user here

I have been working on a robotic figure, trying to be careful and keep it at a 90 degree angle to the floor, but as I have adjusted its pose this is creating all sorts of different angles throughout the figure

I have broken up the figure into different subtools to let me work on parts of it independently

Right now am trying to make mechanical joints for knees and elbows by appending primitives. I need to make precise, symmetrical cuts and alterations to the primitives but am finding it difficult to get the right alignment to produce symmetrical results. As I rotate and move the primitive I am holding down shift, and the primitive is “snapping” to positions, but they are not perpendicular to the scene- therefore my cuts and alterations are coming out lopsided and imprecise

Any suggestions on how to manipulate the primitive into the correct alignment?

Changing views helps, this helps you with that bit >> http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?161588-quot-Axis-quot-Plugin-for-ZBrush-4r2&highlight=Axis+PLUGIN
Sliders in the Geometry palette and Deformation palette can help

You can use the transpose line to properly align your model to the canvas so you can work on straight lines as well. Draw your traspose line where you want your camera to be aligned and then click the little white dot at the end.

I believe this is covered in either the docs, or the vids in the zclassroom that go over using the transpose line as well.

Thank you for the link to this plugin! It’s amazing!!!
