Why would you need that when you can just use Sculptris then re-topo in ZBrush

Easy answer. See:
http://www.3d-coat.com/retopology/

That’s a good enough reason.

Check out 3d Coat 3.5…

3d-Coat

The auto-retopo feature looks like the nicest addition in the bunch… I have to say it, 3d-Coat and ZBrush make a nice combo.
Is anyone planning to make a GoZ plugin for 3d coat? would be cool, though I can imagine there would be a lot of complications.

What do you guys think of 3d-Coat?

I bought a 3d Coat license about a year ago, but haven’t used it too much to be honest. There’s fantastic technology in there, but in my experience the interface is buggy as hell, customizing it rarely works correctly, even dragging things around, and the workflow is a little clunky and unintuitive (a kindred spirit of zb maybe…), but man is it powerful. Too bad it doesn’t come close to working on my tablet pc. Nothing else out there can do what it does.

If only Zbrush could incorporate some of that tech. Especially the full free voxel sculpting and now amazing-looking guided auto retopo. I’m sure they have some version of both in the works anyhow. I for one would love to see a GoZ plugin for 3d Coat.

I tried the autoretopo in 3dcoat trial and it really works very nicely… I m not a big fan of voxel modeling i personally prefer the way sculptris works and of coure zbrush for sculpting…

Hi again guys,

I’m posting some news about my software Photosculpt www.photosculpt.net.

As you know (have you forgotten already?) Photosculpt creates photorealistic 3D models and textures easily from just two photos. :sunglasses:

New this month: my web site features a very nice Flash 3D viewer :bulb:small_orange_diamond:bulb:small_orange_diamond:bulb:in front page (see it at www.photosculpt.net) featuring some great models and textures created with my software.

This month I’ve also uploaded FREE :grimacing:small_orange_diamond:grimacing: 1024x1024 textures for download. see them here:
http://www.photosculpt.net/blog/2010…s-10-pack.html

Here is a tutorial I made on how to create them / use them:
http://www.photosculpt.net/dump/2010…osculpt-t.html

I created a small library of textures now (46 at the time I’m posting).

New this month: I’m selling now some of them here :+1:
http://www.photosculpt.net/buy-3d-textures-now/

I think that’s all :o:p

Oh yes and don’t forget there is a challenge every end of the month. http://www.photosculpt.net/challenge/
you can win a free license (value Eur 99.00) :sunglasses:

Hi everybody,

I would like to introduce Polygonal Design corporation, where I work, and particularly the software UNFOLD3D.
Our company is based for years in Marseille, south of France. Polygonal Design is the maker of UNFOLD3D, UV map generator software UNFOLD3D.

You can get UNFOLD3D as a one computer license, or a floating license (LAN). It allows you to automatically unfold meshes and to work on UV maps, with lots of smart editing features. The new generation 7 of UNFOLD3D, which comes with brand new ISOMAP unwrapping algorithm, is now available, so this is an inivitation for you to discover all of new improvements on website:
unfold3d/Generation 7

And more than this, you will find here ( tutorial) a new tutorial showing you how to begin with UNFOLD3D V7.
The mesh used in this video can be download here (right click->save as): moufle.obj

Any questions ? My pleasure to answer, as I was the one who did this new tutorial

a new one by Istropix

A new breed of high-end 2D/3D animation software that reinvents the traditional approaches of creating final images. In a single integrated application, paint, animate, texture, surface, create layers, render, compose and get your final image.

Video

Clarisse seems pretty expensive considering that the first version will not do any modeling, rigging, character animation, or particles. They haven’t given an exact price yet but it seems implied that it will be $3-4,000. A lot more expensive than LightWave for example yet it will do far less when it’s released.

EDIT Modo 501 just released, downloading now

Hi,
Will Zbrush 4 and GoZ work with Modo 501? 501 is being released very soon and I was wondering if Pixologic and Luxology have worked GoZ out ahead of the time.

Thanks

We will release an update for GoZ soon, around the new year as we have some changes to do in the GoZ core system as the Mac version of 501 have now a carbon and cocoa version.
This update is currently in internal testing, then you won’t have to wait too long

Great!

My sentiments exactly. Very great!!!

Will you let us know about it?
thanks

We will post the announce here at ZBC. Check also our ZBlog (http://www.pixologic.com/blog) and Twitter (http://twitter.com/pixologic) as they wil be announced there too.

Modo 501 looks great and I think ZBrush will cook with the new Modo…

any news as to when the goz for 501 is coming?

I know its a bit naive, thinking that bumping this thread would change anything but… Any news? Or should I stick to idea “will be out when will be out”?

nezumi, no i don’t think its naive - bump
