OS X Zmapper or Displacement fix?

Hi,

I was going to buy ZBrush at one time but I have a mac and looked into the features to make sure they were identical to the PC. I only have a mac and do not have enough HD space right now to load windows.

Anyway, unsurprised, it seemed that the two key features of anyone wanting ZBrush were not working or available. It has been almost a year now so I came back after seeing the announcement of 3.5. Will ZBrush for os x ever have the displacement bug fixed? Will Zmapper ever make an appearance for us mac folk OR has these issues already been fixed? If so, I’m going to buy 3.5 when it comes out. Thanks. Before telling me to search in the forums first, I did. I didn’t see anything except a really old thread saying Pixlogic was still working on it.

Thanks,

Scott

ZMapper and DE are quickly moving toward being obsolete. That’s why you don’t find them on the Mac side.

Version 3.2 natively has the key things that ZMapper and DE were created for. It has lots of controls for normal map creation. It can project detail from one mesh to another, with far more control than ZMapper affords. It can natively create 32-bit displacement maps. It can apply maps to each SubTool, so multiple maps can be created for (and applied to) your models.

Also, GoZ makes it a snap to view your maps directly on your models and in the specific rendering engine that they’ll be used by.
