Hi,

Hi,
Seems usage of grid picture plus zsphere plus preview adaptive skin is crashing it.
Redoing the project without the usage of the grid picture works
I can verify that this totally sorted out any Jittery strokes I had. thanks
Im running mid 2010 iMac with Lion.
hello
for those experiencing crashes with atmonitor so badly that they cant do the solution steps there’s another app that does the same thing.
it seems to work here.
not sure if you set the number to a negative (-2) or a positive (2) but either seems to work on my comp
here it is:
http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/36748/processrenicer
here is an article about the app if you want to read that first:
http://www.addictivetips.com/mac-os/change-and-manage-application-process-priority-in-mac/
hope you can get back to zbrushing now
no it doesn’t!
Nopes, certainly doesn’t.
I’m reluctant to try atMonitor and mess to much with such things too, especially as it seems as though it’s not really running properly anyway. If you’re having to do it every time it’s easier just to take multithreading down to 3 anyway.
Hello,
i have a different issue with my MacBookPro (2011). Everytime i move my pen the CPU is going up at 100% on all cores. I can work quite fluidly but after working a while I am afraid my Computer will die. The Processor is running on Maximum all time.
I have latest OSX 10.8.2 and Wacomdriver 6.3.4-3
This issue make Zbrush unusable on my machine. Does anyone have this issue? On CGTalk someone confirmed this.
Greetings, Holger
I had a very similar problem. Turned out the generic RAM I had was incompatible with Zbrush. As soon as I replaced it with compatible, (mac 'approved RAM) the problem was solved.

hope this helps.
Hello, thanks for the reply. But this cant be the reason in my case as I bought my Macbook in the Applestore as is. I did not buy any thirdparty Ram.
holgar: you have the 100% cpu usage by just moving the cursor or when clicking on your mesh and applying a brush stroke? If it’s when doing a brush stroke, is it on a low poly model or on an multi million polygon model?
Also, for your information, having your CPU at 100% isn’t a risk for it (it’s designed for) if you have a decent cooling. But being always at 100% with ZBrush isn’t a default behavior of course!
Hello, thanks for the reply. The CPU goes up to 100% (on all Cores) when I just move the mouse on the Viewport canvas. Just moving the mouse (not Navigating in the scene). And it doesnt matter how dense the mesh is. Happens with a 8K sphere. Someone told me to turn off the Multidraw in the Preferences. This fixed it kind of. Well…I now have only one core at 100% when I move the mouse and I have a lot worse editor speed. This cant be a solution. When I run the Test Multithread it tells me I have 360% performance boost. So I would like to keep that on.
I am wondering why Zbrush uses so much CPU just for moving the mouse in the viewport. Is this normal? Do you experience this too?
Pixologic just confirmed this issue with the CPU. They are on it.
Hi All, I’m not sure where this is at but I’m running on OS 10.8 with a Cintiq and brand new iMac 27". I get lag when I use the Cintiq pen but when i switch to mouse it works great. The lag is so frustrating. Is this a Wacom issue or Zbrush bug?
Hello everyone,
I ran into this when I installed the latest version of the wacom drivers with lion.
Solution: uninstall the driver and install this version 6.1.7-5
Helped for me! since the newer versions are pretty much crap for lion. AND the old one works just fine without lag and all that.
Try that people, and report back how it works.
Am on a mac pro 2008 with 18gig ram and a intuos 2.
