Are you still sculpting with multidraw off?

I’m using the Jan 25 driver with Mac OS X 10.7.2, 4GB. Still stutters with Intuos3 and multidraw on. Off, it’s fine but still pauses randomly (very annoying). Shame you can’t take advantage of two processors, but at least you can sculpt a little.

It’s odd that they can’t seem to reproduce the problem. Is it possible that there is some conflicting setting or software that only a certain people may have? When they say they can’t reproduce the problem, I assume they’re using Lion and a Intuos3/4.

Windows 7 works fine with the same computer and tablet. I real shame Mac OS Lion doesn’t. Even with the multidraw trick, the random lock-up is completely frustrating.

I have ZB running on a new iMac.
At default Max-Thread setting(5), brush strokes jitter and lag…really unusable for me.
Turning Max-Thread setting down to 4, ZB goes to smooth butter strokes.

I’m still having to turn multidraw off every time I start up ZBrush. The latest (January) drivers from Wacom didn’t solve the problem for me. I’m using an Intuos 4 on an iMac with Lion. I wonder where the eventual fix will come from… Apple, Wacom or Pixologic haha.

I’m looking at getting a new imac and using zbrush w. it. I was just looking around for any know issues and came across this thread. Can anyone fill me in here if this is still an issue? I’m using a bamboo, is it just a problem with intuos?

If its not resolved, what’s everyone doing - turning off multi-draw?

Is there anything else I need to be aware of if I want to use zbrush on an imac?

Thanks

Yes, it still is an issue, at least with my iMac. But turning off Multi-Draw has done the trick for me.
And I am still using the old Intuos 3.

Thanks. I guess then that not having multidraw on isn’t too bad a hit then? Can you see/feel much of a difference between having it on or off when using a mouse?

Does anyone have experience w. a imac and a bamboo? I’m guessing it’ll be the same as w. the intuos no?

Thanks.

Hello. I am just writing to be included on this thread in hopes that a solution will be presented soon. I am currently running 10.6.8, but I wanted to purchase a new mac. I cannot do so, because I was told (by an apple store rep) that they won’t ship with anything but Lion. This whole problem is such a shame…a waiting game, I guess. I am now looking at older power macs purely in order to get something more powerful that still runs 10.6.8. Best of luck to everyone stuck in the throws of this issue.

New forum member.
Running the latest version of zBrush on lion with a 24HD and haven’t noticed any problems (MacPro 12 core). However, I have another’s issue.
when I try to generate normal or displacement maps they appear distorted; parts are ok and other regions just random noise or blocks. Any idea on how to get around this?
thanks
Anil

Why do not you make a screen recording of the problem and send it to Pixologic?

Just adding one more voice to this thread. I still have lag and jitter even with the newest wacom driver released last week. It really seems to be specific mac hardware running Lion that has this problem. I’m running on a 2009 macbook pro with 8gb RAM and have been clean installing every new wacom driver over the last 6 months with no improvements.

It looks like my solution will end up being to buy the new macbook pro whenever it comes out.

Can’t believe this is STILL is not resolved. hoping to see a solution soon.

New member. Howdy.
I’m running Zbrush 4r3 on a new iMac with a Cintiq 21UX (with all the latest drivers from Wacom and OS updates for Lion). The stutter actually seems worse now with the latest Wacom driver. With Multidraw off, it seems to help but not totally.
Kind of ridiculous how long this issue has been present and not so much as a peep from Pixologic or Wacom. Wacom flat out denies it’s their issue and judging from the tone of the reps voice when asked, they get the question quite a bit.

I was just about to buy a Macbook Pro, but I don’t think I would think about Mac’s anymore after reading these.

That might be an idea until this gets sorted. I really don’t want to get a pc just to do zbrush!

Is anyone here not having these lags on a mac? Is it only on macs?

I don’t have zbrush installed right now, so can someone try this please -

Has anyone called wacom? What do they say? Here’s their US number - 1-800-922-6613

Even if I use intous5 ,the problem exists.

What is the official response from Pixologic? And from Apple?

What’s the comment from Pixologic about this? What are they doing about it? What are mac users doing, just accepting a laggy pen? This is hard to believe!

What does Pixologic say when you contact them? Do they just blame the wacom drivers?
