its looking good Joepaddyroe.
one suggestion would be to take symmetry off when you are texturing and painting…it just gives a much more natural feel to the model (even if the facial features are symmetrical) it will break it up a little bit. i would also suggest possibly making your brush size smaller, as the large brush size is emphasizing the areas of lower geometry (top of the head etc).
keep it up!
Thanks Mradaw. I’ll keep that in mind. Heres a better shot.
I want to use this in a film reel. I’m going to animate in max with a biped for the body and a series of morph targets for the face.

I’m using a SSS or sub surface scatter skin shader in max 9 and really dont know what I’m doing with it. Anybody know of a descent tutorial? Heres my results so far.

i wrote a small tut that may be able to help you out. the link is in my signature.
I read the tutorial and found a few juicy bits of info. I’ll post my results soon. Thanks very much.
I have done a walk cycle animation and now I think I’ll add some facial expressions and animate using morph targets. I am also thinking about redoing the texture.
