Hey all, this is a personal project and my first real attempt at trialing zbrush. I’ve always been interested in creepy crawlies and gained lots of inspiration from the work of Eric Keller over the years. So I thought I’d have a crack at replicating a photograph by Jim Stevens of an orchard orb weaver (https://500px.com/photo/101031569/orchard-orb-weaver-spider-leucauge-venusta-by-jim-stevens).
Lots of ZSphering for the base mesh and polypaint textures (with the abdomen projected from the photo, sorry guys it was too detailed!) before export to Maya and compositing.
