Opinions On: Has ZBrush gotten more user friendly for beginers users over the years.

I use Sculptris and love the simplicity of the program but would like some more features that I am sure ZBrush has.

I know all programs have their learning curve, I tried ZBrush like 10 years ago and remember it being a littel difficult to work with. I cant recall exactly what it was I think it may of had to do with a seeming overly complicated file set up structure, if that makes any sense.

But any way I am sure I could figure it out, but I was just curious to hear from others if the program has gotten any “easier” to use over the Years.

Thanks

I don’t know when you first tried it. There was a big jump in useability from the 1.x version to the 2.x version. But each version has also layered on more and more features to learn. If you weren’t able to come to terms with it then, you probably won’t be able to now either. No harm, no foul. Everyone has different preferences for tools.

The program is powerful, has a ton of features, and does things in a specific way because that’s why it’s able to work with such high polycounts on comparatively modest hardware–whereas most alternatives bog down far sooner and require increasingly powerful machines to work on those burdens. It has a learning curve, and always has. It’s not something you fully pick up in a week, or even two.

If your expectations are for that sort of simplicity, and you aren’t swayed by the ever increasing body of impressive work you see being done with it by amateurs and professionals every day, then by all means I think you should stick with a tool you’re more comfortable with.

I agree w/ previous comments- its an amazing tool and can do just about anything but it takes some time learning. It also has gained more features w/ each version so in a way has gotten more involved to learn. There are other altnernatives but I chose it due to its user support
