Open Edge Smoothing

Hey guys, I have an issue with open edge smoothing. Basically where i have an open edge i get some pulling when smoothing.

I’m sculpting some very mechanical objects at high resolutions and i need these edges to stay where they are.

Does anybody have any idea on how to deal with this?

add another edge loop along the edge, or do your first subdivide with smt off
