Old .ztl files (v3 - v4) loading as cubes?

I’m seeing that some folks have had “termination errors” when trying to load old ztl files that use zspheres;

I’m finding that none of my old .ztl files from Zbr. v3 or v4 are usable, even ones made from primitives rather than zspheres- the thumbnail image of the ztool looks fine but what draws onto the canvas is a cube primitive.

It is so sad losing all my old ztools! Is there any way to convert them into some usable form?

if you like, upload an old ztool, i’ll see if it works for me.

Thanks, Zeddie – I’m having trouble figuring out how to attach a ztl file. The paperclip icon above and the “attachments” area below both consider .ztl an invalid file.

I tried saving it as a .txt file and attaching that, but it exceeds the forum’s size limit. if there’s another way to attach a .ztl please let me know!

upload it as a zip file. you can zip it with a program like 7-zip or some other free utility.

Thanks!

I hope this worked… this should look like a horse.

sorry it loaded as a messed up cube.

if you still have the older zbrush you can open it in there and then export it as an obj, then bring it into 4r6.

best i can suggest.

Thanks- at least I know it’s not me doing something wrong!
