hi all,
Ripper’s amazing ben kingsley’s head gave me the motivation to go back to some character modeling again.
I started this old guy, still very rough for the moment but I thought I’d post it anyway

Very nice looking model already, subtelity but everything is in there…
One thing, I´ve got the feeling I´ve already seen this somewhere else, maybe the reference you´re using, or maybe a previous model of you…
looks like you might have fewer divisions on the ear, hope thats not a problem…
keep i t up.
ciao.
Great looking head model Dezz… if I’d have to say something, I’d maybe work a bit on the definition of the area between the ‘Frontal bone’ and the ‘Orbital arch’… very promising stuff!
The ripper.

thanks
about the head looking familiar I don’t know, surely not an older model of mine since I never did that kind of physiology, my only ref is one actor that played in the old movie 12angry men (don’t know his name), and I’m not making a portrait of him, he looks very different.
about the ear its not a problem I will subdivide two or three levels more for the projection master step.
thanks for your feedback!
ripper
glad you like it,
you are completly right about the frontal area, I didn’t work this part and the whole crane area much. gonna focus on this ofr next update
thanks
great start
I have a bit more time to work on this guy again.
here is a small update, still roughing out I’m growing him older a bit.

very nicely done – keep going
nice start
hang on !
Dezz, Great form.
This is going to be an awesome piece once you’re done.
I look forward to seeing this one finished.
Keep going.

Very nice base volumes, the model look already wonderfull.
With micro details it will be awsome…
Do you plan to texture it too?
Thats very nice indeed. Any chance of a basic tutorial on how you got this far? ASW
great so far !
keep it up
I’m really loving this Dezz. Lots of personality!
thanks for the feedback, really appreciated
Sebcesoir, yes I plan to work on the texturing and shading which is something I have rarely done yet, I hope it will be good.
avfatarsv, I didn’t record the steps so I can’t do a tutorial. but this is very simple modeling there are no special techniques that would be interesting to show really, just the standard brush so far.
The upper skull might look a bit small compaired to the lower part?
It reminds me of Stephen Rea, Am I crazy?
Great sculpt!

Well done Dezz! You have created yourself a nice clean base mesh to work from there. I look forward to seeing this one develop.
This looks wonderful Dezz. Can you show some wires from the base cage?
worked a bit today,
seb you are completly right about this, I think I am satisfied with the proportions this time,
still lots of work to do in the frontal area and ears and then I can finally start pushing the details.

Really nice Dezz, he’s got lots of personality in my opinion!
