Old Guy

hy guys

This image was made for study Zbrush and max integration. Zbrush was used to make the fine details and project textures on the model. And in the 3dsmax it was rendered in MR render, using fast skin shader. all maps to control the parameters of shader was painted in Zbrush, using group UV to map the mesh.
About the mesh, i used poly by poly method to create the head and box modeling for other objects. I use two MR area lights to lit the scene and final gather of MR.
To Post-production i used Photoshop and some elements from render like Z-depht and Ambient occlusion.

Fantastic work! Just need to upload it with the ACT tags so it shows full size.

Very nice work! the shaders and lights are quite delicious! on the down side there is something weird about his upper right eyelid and maybe a lack of stiches around the vest/coat (or watever it is). great stuff!

Very fine work indeed mate. Lil’sister’s comment about the eye are correct I’d say, just under the eybrow and above the eyelid, there is a deep curved line that looks like a scar, only it doesn’t look quite natural? If i were ultra picky I’d say he looked a tad wide-eyed, but that’s just me! Sorry to be picky, the scar (or whatever it is) just stands out because the rest is so perfect

Top row quality though mate

womball, Angelstein, thanks for the words guys…

Lil’sister, this detail dont worry me and guive to model an assymetrical look… but anyway thanks for the observation…

here some pictures of this guy…

Truly remarkable work.
Hate you already.

No SSS!?!?! Very nice materials if you didn’t use any SSS man! Really wicked real. I would have to agree he’s a little wide-eyed. Composite a nude silhouette in the background. That will give any old dude something to be wide-eyed about! jk. Thanks for posting all the wires and steps. Great stuff. How long have you been using zb?

I like the character, he looks a bit frightened  but effective. Great job

x-titan,bicc39, Psionic, thanks for the words guys…

alexleia, is very good read your words, cause your models are very impressives…
obrigado pela força cara…

irerbert, the shader is Fast skin with SSS of MR. and i use some maps to control the parameters. im using zb about one year.

thanks guys, i will post others images later.

Nice job on the clothing. Love the soft fabric look.

garycrump, thanks a lot …

wesclei3d, Hey I’ve seen this guy before.

Very realistic, i think the image needs a background, congratulations

You have some really awesome work there, and when people do very realistic characters like this I always take a good look at how they did the different layers that go into the various SSS map slots, (I’m a Max user.) But I feel like I need to understand the reasons behind the different colors in the various skin levels. Why more specular weight on the tip of the nose than on the bridge? Why is the subdermal layer redder on the point of the chin than under the corners of the mouth? I just feel like having a more intellecual understanding of the color variations on the face would help me a lot. Could you point me to a discussion of these features or tell me something about what led you to create your maps in the way you did?

Stunning work, would you mind sharing your lighting setup? I use Max too and lighting is something I’m working on so I’m always curious as to what others do.

Thanks in advance for any information

Beautiful work

Great texturing!! Thanks for sharing your SSS map-setup; I’ve been
backwards and forwards with the same questions (above post by Wildsketch)
of late, and have to admire your mapping skills here - really lovely job :+1:
