Official Sketchfab News

Hello ZBrush Central!

We wanted to start a thread to bring you official news about Sketchfab, without spamming you.

For those that don’t know, we’re a web platform for publishing your 3D models interactively, anywhere online. Now you can publish your 3D creations in their full 3D glory, in addition to photo’s and videos. The service is completely free, and you can upload an unlimited number of models.

The first bit of news is not brand new, but instead a reminder. We have a ZBrush plugin available for free download here, and it is an exporter that will connect you directly to your Sketchfab account from within ZBrush. You will then be able to publish your files right from the software.

Thanks, and we have some big news coming in the next few weeks so stay tuned!

Best,

The Sketchfab Team

Hi guys,

We wanted to let you know that we’ve updated the Zbrush exporter plugin up to 4R7 and it’s compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions on OS X and Windows! (At last!)

You can also now upload in draft mode, letting you tweak all your settings on Sketchfab before publishing your model.

All the details are on our blog

Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Hey ZBrushers!

We’re excited to announce that we’ve made another leap forward that will help you show off your work and discover the work of others. Thanks to our WebVR integration it’s now possible to explore every one of the close-to-a-million scenes uploaded by you – our community – in VR on mobile (Cardboard, GearVR) AND on desktop with the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

To make exploring in VR easier we’ve added our VR Launcher allowing you to browse scenes without leaving the googles, VR Teleportation to move around scenes with ease and our VR Scene Editor to simply and quickly set up your models for the best possible viewing experience in VR.

Check out our site to see how you can now export from ZBrush and instantly view your work in VR!

We’re pleased to announce today that we are now officially supported on Twitter. Sketchfab 3D and VR files now natively work in the Twitter Timeline just by sharing a link. That’s another great way to share your work with the world!

Cool stuff… Thx…

Some exciting news today. Something we’ve been working on for a long time. We’ve leveraged our support for glTF to update our Sketchfab exporter for Unity. It’s the first release in a while but the start of something that we’ll be updating regularly moving forward, adding new features and keeping pace with Unity updates.
Now, whenever you want to show off assets created in Unity or gather feedback on your work-in-progress you can publish straight from Unity to Sketchfab and embed your work in 3D and VR on ZbrushCentral, Unity Connect, in the Unity Asset Store, the Unity Forums, the Steam Store, Facebook, Twitter, and just about anywhere else you can think of.
