Oddity

The table and glass case took me about 5 min, if that. They were both created as lines, then lofted. The hand took me about 30 to 40 min. And the table cloth took maybe 3 - 5 min. The lighting is just a standard Spot Light with added Volumetric light settings. There is also an Omni light with lowered shadow density.

[Edit]OOOPS! sorry guys…this was supposed to be posted in the Community Forum. Is there a way to move it over?[Edit]

hey edit:down:sorry buddy… excellent image … i love the depth in this image… and im sure that pix… will move this if you ask her… if not edit your post and delete the image and words… maybe come up with another image to take its place… you can also rename your post to something else… hope this helps…

I like the image and love the lighting…is there a way to achieve this in Z, as in to have the lighting behind an object like that…and DS, didnt realize yer name was ron too…

love it,simple elegant and surreal.
ala Magritte magnifique.

That looks fantastic, well done indeed. I especially love the cloth effect on the table. Also the background provides a fantastic sense of depth. I also love how the light source seems to beam out of the glass canister. Fantastically done, it truely has a great mood to it

my own hand.

I am most impressed with the tranlucent look of the glass cover. The hand is also very well modeled. I think that you did a very creditable job with this image.

dr. jjwow, my name is Jon, not Ron. LoL.
I was thinking about switching the image with a Z image, but right now I dont have any new Z images to replace it with.

Im glad you guys like the image. I thought that most of you were going to be mad that I posted my 3D Studio Max image here by mistake instead of in the community forum.

Im not sure if you can achieve the volumetric lighting effect in Z. Im sure someone out there has to know for sure though.

The cloth was really simple to do. I just deformed a Cylinder in all the right places around the edge of the table.

You can most likely get the translucent effect of the glass cover in Z by placing a transparent Cylinder inside of another transparent Cylinder and adding the right light. I would like to see someone try this.

Actually, D/S, it’s a lot easier to exactly control translucence to transparency than using all these parts you mention…
Just a matter of using the extensive and flexible material modifiers!

Oh…well I figured there might a better way. But since I dont know Z all that well yet…
