Hello, I’m using Z spheres to create a base mesh. When I import the Obj model into Maya it comes in several pieces with overlapping geometry which is not what I want. For example head region in the z sphere model has concave z spheres, same for the mouth with a z sphere pointing outwards for the nose. In maya they’re all separate pieces overlapping. I have an earlier version of the model which imports normally but its pretty far back in the modelling chain so I’m trying to figure out what went wrong from that point on. Is there anyway to correct this mistake?
Have you tried skinning the ZSpheres (Tool>Adaptive Skin>Make Adaptive Skin) prior to exporting? That might resolve the issue. Also, it sounds like you’re using indented ZSpheres. Make sure that Classic Skinning is active as that feature is not supported by ZSpheres II. The option to use classic skinning is in the Adaptive Skin menu.
