Obj disappears when bound to ZSphere rig

The .ztl file works fine but the .obj file I made from it (export and then import from ZBrush)disappears after being bound and trying to rotate an arm. Anyone else see this misbehavior?

Has the mesh got a lot of tris?

I was hoping to get the points to weld together better by exporting and then importing. Didn’t seem to do what I’d hoped it would though. How many tris might be a problem?

Difficult to say. I just know that meshes with tris can cause problems with zsphere rigging.

Still have a ‘somewhat workable’ mesh but the armature is pulling out through it in the hand area. Rig when bound says 82 ActivePoints, the mesh alone is 176,427 ActivePoints. Check Mesh didn’t reveal any problems.

The 82 will be the number of zspheres in the rig. 176,000 is a fairly heavy mesh for rigging.

I know that’s the number of zspheres. I have a lot of points to lose then. I have multiple groups and have deleted some points where they won’t show. I have clothing on my character. What might be considered a ‘workable number of points’?

I don’t really know what a ‘workable number of points’ would be. It probably depends on your system. But why don’t you clone your model and then reduce the polycount with ZRemesher so that you can test and see the difference?
