i really dont understand this, my computer doesnt seem to be able to render the glow material? it renders everything else except this material does anyone know why? heres a snipping of what i get as i try to render in glow material…
please let me know why this is!!!
i have 8 gig of ram in my computer and plenty of disk space!!! arrrrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
yes glow is screwed up and will cause a crash.
however, if you mess with the S1 channel of the material, i think turning the settings down a bit, you won’t get a crash. i’ve done it quite a few times but never wrote down the settings. so it is possible. you’ll have to play with it.
Try turning off multithread rendering in the Preferences palette. Do you still crash?
aurick i just tried that and got a crash.
yea spaceboy i messed with the s1 chan a bit but it greatly takes away the whole idea of glow which is a rite bummer!
i did try this tho which helps but with a tiny render, switching to AAHALF helps which i usually do anyway if i wanna take my renders to photoshop but its jus strange that all the other materials go fast but with that extra bit of muscle that glow has, zbrush cant quite pull it off! anywayz guyz thanks alot!
i’ll keep tinkerin under da hood!
spaceboy sweet mate!!! i did the same as u said ok?
i had the glow ammount to very little to begin with, also the radius then rendered on full screen, it works but with hardly any glow, so, i go back to s1 tweak em a bit more, (it then automatically renders, then so on and on until yah get to full glow ok? so it does work man thanks!!!
this is quite a minor issue by the way but yah can get some good results if yah mix it wit different render passes in photoshoppy!
sweet dude!

glad you got it to work, i played with it more and it seems that all you need to do is change the radius from 8 to 7, at least on my end.
