Normal Mapping Assistance

I just got Zbrush and I’m enjoying it. I am currently trying to generate a normal map from my model but I keep getting a “blank” texture (it’s just a flat lavender/blue color) with no normal information on it. Any suggestions what I can do to fix this issue? I have the model separated into different layers in the sub-tools menu, but I can’t imagine that causing problems.

The obj file that I imported already has been UV’d so that is all set as well.

what level are you generating your normal map at?
Normal maps inside of Zbrush calculate the difference from the subD level you’re at, and the highest subD level in the tool.
Make sure you are always generating your normal maps at the level they will be applied to inside another application.

Also make sure none of the UVs are touching the 0:1 border edges.
