Normal map

I can’t understand how this works … i made low poly model in 3dmax then i export this as obj and import in zbrush…what now? can’t make good details on low poly model … how this thing goes?
I watch lots of videos on you tube but they always skip some things in procedure.
So my first try was like this…made a box (6 polys) in 3dmax. Then i export box as obj and import in zbrush then i go to geometry to add more polys but my box become sphere…(yeah im noob)

When you divide a model it normally has a smoothing process applied. That’s what’s turning the cube into a sphere. To disable this, turn off Tool>Geometry>Smt. This modifies Divide to only add polygons, but not smooth. Another option is to use the Crease feature before dividing. This lets you control specific edges and even how many times you must subdivide before a creased edge will start to smooth.

After you’ve divided the model you can sculpt the details. From there, simply return to level 1, specify the map size (and UV mapping if necessary) in the Tool>UV Map menu, and define your normal map creation modifiers in the Tool>Normal Map menu. Then click the button to create the map!

ok thx to you i have manage to do what i want but now dont know how to export my normal map… can’t find export map or somthing like that ?

You haven’t read the PDF I referred you to. It tells you how to move the map from the Normal Map menu into the Texture palette so that you can export it.
