normal map shrinking - no original basemesh

I have this ztool with 6 subdivisons. it is a cave setting for an environment so I want to use the low-res mesh with normal maps on it.

I dont have the original non deformed basemesh. so I have to export level 1 and use that in the scene.

so I go to the level 1 and generate a normal map for the 6th subdivision level,
zbrush 4.2 , multimap exporter with smooth uvs, tangent and adaptive on.

when I put it in the scene, I get a normal map that is smaller than the level 1 mesh’s uv. how can I solve this problem ?

  • if I generate the normal map without smoothuv, the normal map looks weird, like it has artifacts.
  • I dont know how to use cage, suv and reuv.

can anyone help?
