Normal map render in Maya

Hey all,

I was wondering if someone could take a look at these and tell me what went wrong- These are normal maps I created in Zbrush (3.1) and have applied to low res in Maya (8.5)

First is just a screen shot of Maya with high quality render turned on (to make normal maps viewable real time)Maya_screen_shot.jpg

How is the high-quality realtime rendering okay, but the IPR isn’t?? Unfortunately I know very little about rendering in Maya or anywhere else for that matter. Any advice would be great.

Just a wild guess, but perhaps the production renderer subdivides your UVs appropriately, and the IPR doesn’t. Those are definitely UV seams you’re seeing…you probably used AUV for GUV tiling in ZBrush to generate your UVs.

yeah I did. I used auv for my uv’s. I didnt try the production settings. Ill give it a shot. Thanks a lot.
