Normal Map issues

Hey guys i need a hand here. I made an object using zspheres and exported it to max, unwrapped it, re-imported it, and then sculpted more in zbrush. When i tried to generate a normal map it ended up like this. Anybody have this issue before? Or know how to fix it? I’ve never had this issue before so im kinda confused…

Holy ****… that is really bad… I’ve experienced this as well, but NEVER this bad… can you try this on another model?

What do you mean try it on another model? Im having an issue with this model. I’ve already done all the sculpting work and stuff. Its unwrapped and in Max the unwrap looks fine… so it shouldn’t be doing this.

As a start, worth checking your smoothing groups I would say
Make sure all polys are in one smoothing group. Unless you are doing hard surface stuff and you need multiple SGs.

Bakes in Zbrush or Max?

They are all one smoothing group (not hard surfaced) and the normals are baked in Zbrush.

Try to cycle your UV’s 2x to see if that fixes the error.

I’m assuming the UV’s were done in Max. At least, that looks to be a Max Fup.

Thanks beta but what exactly do you mean by cycle them 2x? And yes they were done in Max

Okay well that helped a little… its still pretty fractal but not quite as bad…

Export out your mesh and check to see if yuor uvs are unwelded at every edge.

Thanks for all the help! I am sorry i forgot to reply here. I just had to re-unwrap the models in max. Still dont know or understand why this whole thing happened but re-unwrapping the low poly objects and re-importing them to zbrush at their lowest Sub-D level seemed to take care of it. Pain in the butt, but it worked! And thank you again for all the help!
