Noob's first WIP...Please Critique

I’ve had ZBrush now for about a year, but I haven’t had much time to work with it up until the last couple of months.

This is the first real project I’ve done (all in zspheres), and I’m at the stage where I could use some critiques.

Basically, I’m looking for critiques on the basic form and anatomy. This sculpt is only meant to be a bust, similar to Gentle Giants mini-busts. There are two reasons for this. First, the image I have in mind for this will only show from the waist up. Second, my machine isn’t exactly top-o-the-line, so I do have some restrictions on how much mesh my PC will handle. So I decided not to add a bunch of mesh that I won’t be needing. So I’m not too worried about the fact that he doesn’t have a buttocks, because it won’t be there anyways.

The general look I’m going for is a type of lean, yet wirey undead cyborg creature. He will have a type of breathing mask on that covers the nose and mouth area, which is why I didn’t work in much in that area
Anyways, I could certainly use some extra eyes on this to tell me what looks good, and more importantly, what doesn’t look right.

Thanks so much for any and all input!

keep going man…look good so far

Looking good, but I would check on his trapezoids. They seem to hit 2 major angles instead of flowing smoothly up into the neck.

Other than that I think your anatomy is looking sharp. Keep it up!

Are you going to go full body on this one?

Hey man you don tlook like noob at al to mee, i really like the anatomy, it going well. did you do the base mesh in maya or z sphere , or from spheres/ cube??

relly nicely done good luck and cheers

3d70mohamedaly - Thanks man!

BauerVision - Good catch. Even though there is a natural diamond shaped hollow in between the traps, mine was definitely too pronounced. I’ve softened it up, and made a couple more adjustments as well. As to your other question, no, this will be a waist up only sculpt.

P.Y.R.O. - Thank you…The body was done all in Zspheres.

Here’s some work I’ve been doing on the face while waiting to see if anyone else noticed any other problems with my anatomy.

The breathing mask was created in LightWave. I haven’t figured out how to do hard surface sculpting in ZBrush yet.

A little more progress…

Constructive criticism on anything thus far more than welcome…

the transition from one branch of his triceps to his other is very sharp, I’d just push back that hard edge a little then you should be all good. I would also start to give his face an expression, as he is already not symmetrical it would help a lot I think.

And I think he looks cooler without the mask, that whole, no mouth thing. just my 2cents.
