noob sketchbook. looking for help too. (nudity)

I’ve been working on this for longer than I want to admit. :o every time I run into a problem I’m too embarrassed to ask for help and spent too much time in the search box. hehe.

I was hoping if anybody here has tips on maybe what I should do next?

my to do list is to pose her, add lip texture and hair. I don’t know how to sculpt the lip texture… I tried looking for alphas but they don’t look too good when I try to brush them on. I need some help, perhaps critiques too… thank you so much for looking.

The absolutely most stupid thing you can do is to not ask for help when you are stuck. You will just end up doing something you think is right instead of actually learning something. Failing is learning as long as you do it better the next time. I think you have a good start here. I don’t have time to go through every thing right now, but I want to point out that the ears need some work. All over, the anatomy is wrong. Lower eyelids are a bit bumpy, nose bone doesn’t show which is very rare.

As for your lips, you can do every stroke manually as well you know. Study photos of lips and see how the arcs are laid out. I’m always surprised that I find so much cross hatching in lips when I do research on them  Also, remember that the upper lip is made of three pads, one small in the middle and two long on the side while the lower is made of two equal sized ones.

Enjoy the next steps

The basic forms of the body are great and look mostly proportionate. Though, I do agree about the eyes, ears and the lips and very little on the nose. They just need some more reference studies to achieve some realness to them. If you can pay as much attention to the aforementioned details as you’ve done on the back of the legs behind the knee and details on the feet, you’ll be doing awesome. Nevermind the pores for now. Get the rest of the forms right, then scratch in the micro details. Great job so far! You’re doing better than I was doing in my beginnings, for sure! :+1:

Can you tell me what you mean by the nose bone? do you mean the bump like halfway down the nose? About the lower eyelids, do you mean the pores?

I will try. I know my base mesh is horrific and I have a lot of problems with low resolution on the hands, even though I subdivided it by 7 I still can’t put in knuckle detail without it being really blocky. :grimacing:

decided to call it quits with this one. I kept trying to fix it by going back and forth in modo but I keep getting weird spikes everywhere. I’m just going to leave it as is and maybe come back to it some other day.

but I decided to start another one. it’s based off of a model I saw in a maybeline ad… please critique and give feed back. I feel kind of stuck.
