I have a head that I’m working on and I need the bottom filled in – for the appearance of a severed head. I took two screen shots of the problem. Also, for some reason when I look through the missing bottom portion of the head, the entire head seems see through, but if you look at the second picture, you can see that it is not. I am new at this and I’m sure a solution is simple – I just need a little help from you pros. Thanks.
I’m assuming you are using ZB3.5 here…
The transparent effect is because the normals of your mesh are facing out
(as intended). Try turning on ‘Tools\Display Properties\Double’.
As for filling the hole. You could try…
- Tools/Geometry/Close Holes (But you will get Tri’s).
- Add a subtool to fill the hole and use Geometry/Remesh All.
- Look into retopology and close the hole manually. That’s a
lot more work. See http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=44876&highlight=reropology

Thanks for the quick reply. I should have noted that I am on 3.2 using osx.
