This is a problem I had recently, but it is very do-able. Now, if you want to have the model “transform” during mid turn around you could do that in Premier Personally I rendered a complete turn around showing my mesh, and second turn around showing my gray model and a third showing it textured. This can be done in zBrush without having to go into Premier and can be output straight from zBrush as a .mov file. Just don’t export the turn arounds until you have done all three in the order you want them to play back, it will then make a movie file with all three turn arounds.
Some issue I came across were
- showing the mesh on my model: This is done by turning on “frames” which willl show all your poly groups in different colors. BUT, you can turn off the color by going to preferences>draw and then clicking on PFGray, this will make the poly groups gray and give you a nice turn around of your mesh.
- Multiple sub-tools: this will just mess up the previous issue, as you can only show the mesh of one subtool at a time. For this, I used the Subtool Master plugin to merge my various tools into one unified tool. As this is to show your base mesh’s geometry, I first lowered everything to its lowest subdivision before combining the subtools, because alot of complex subtools will just make your machine sieze up with 10million pollys unless you are using a beast of a machine with tons of RAM. Once it’s all merged however the first trick I mentioned applies.
3)Up your frames per second. Especially if you are taking into Premier
4)Under movie>modifiers turn the cursor size down to “0”, otherwise you will have this “thing” on the screen, which is of course the cursor.
5)Overlay image was annoying, as I was going to do that in Premier and I just wanted a clean movie file. Turn its opacity down to “0” unless you want to be a billboard for zBrush
6)Title images turn the fade in and fade out down to “0”, again unless you want to be an add for zBrush on your demo reel.
That’s all I have for you from recent experience. Best of luck, if you have further questions, just reply to this post and I’ll keep my eyes on it. If you do a new subject I may miss it.
