Non-Widescreen Monitors?

Hi all,

I recently emigrated to South America from the UK, and have been trying to find a monitor for my zbrushing. Its been incredibly frustrating, not helped by the fact that here they receive slightly different models (Usually without DVI, and my computer accepts DVI only).

Trying to find a monitor with a DVI connection is the main problem, but also, It seems that in the last year the market has been completely dominated by widescreen, and I for one loathe widescreen.
Upgrading from my current 19" to a 22" wide monitor would grant me an extra 26 pixels in the vertical… pointless, especially for graphics work where you often need to work in portrait.

Can anyone recommend a good 22" or bigger NON-wide monitor? A recommendation of a site that would have such a monitor and the ability to despach it worldwide, would be a godsend at the moment.

Thanks for any help.

i would recomend a 24" because then you get the 1920 x 1200 then you got some good screen space allraound and if you get for example a eizo s2401w og the s2201w probebly also other screens from eizo or other good brands then they can turn the screen to portrait mode.
because i must say i think the future only have widescreen screens unless you buy the 21 cintiq from wacom that is as i know not widescreen yet.

I would suggest the HPw2408h . It is a 24" widescreen monitor, and runs at 1920x1200. One of the cool things about it is that you can rotate the monitor itself 90 degrees…nice for portrait work. Unfortunately it’s only has VGA and HDMI inputs.
