Non-additive Zadd/Zsub?

Hi, I’ve been wondering something for a while, and I don’t know how to put it into proper search terms to find on my own, hahaha.

What I basically want to do is set my Z Intensity to let’s say… 75 or so, and be able to sculpt strokes with a standard brush that never go below that 75 Z Intensity. I don’t want it to sculpt deeper when I draw another stroke, to put it differently. It’d greatly improve my current work.

Here’s hoping for a quick answer, thank you!

If I understand you correctly, what you want is the layer brush. Store a morph target first, and you will only ever penetrate down to set elevation.

Could you be a little more precise?

I know how to store a morph target, and I found the single layer brush, but I am kind of lost in what to do with those…

Thank you.

Okay, I had the wrong brush. Still a bit confused about the utility of a morph target.

It’s the Layer Brush, not single Layer brush. Single Layer brushis a 2.5d brush, Layer brush is a mesh shaping tool.

By default, the Layer brush will keep a consistent z intensity within a single continuous stroke. In other words, you can overlap your stroke as part of the same motion, and it will keep the same depth. If you start a new stroke, it will push deeper.

If, however, you store a morph target prior to using the brush, that elevation/de-elevation will be persistent and set by the z intensity slider, so that no matter how many strokes you make, they will remain at the same depth.
