Noisemaker Crashes Frequently

Hi all ZBrushers, bought and joined Z4 recently. Wonderful tool. Mostly stable on my Win7/64 Xeon5670/12G system. Noisemaker behaves inconsistently in my 4R2. I am aware of the development status of noise plugin, but Noisemaker itself is supposed to be functional. Initially noisemaker worked fine with the demo rhino or dog, produced the results as shown by Etcher’s tutorial. But other times Zbrush crashed as soon as as Tool:Surface:Noise button is pressed on the same “initial/normal state” rhino or dog. I followed the official instruction under Surface and Noisemaker doc, on Noise in Transparency with Dynamesh Sub Function. Managed to load Dynamesh064.zpr into noisemaker after pressing Surface:Noise button, but when navigating through zdata/texture folder, Z4 crashed. I tried a few more times with the same file, every time it crashes. Sometimes it says something about Recovery file sometimes it hangs sometimes it just crashes. So even official Pixologic instruction on noisemaker doesn’t work.

Hope this issue is being looked into. Thanks.

Same here, ZB 4r4 on a Win 7 system. As soon as I try using noisemaker with a model containing some 1 million polys or morem the noisemaker is prone to frequent crashes. Very frustrating.

Actually - it seems noisemaker will crash Zbrush at the site of whatever I throw in it’s direction now. A cube of ten thousand polys will crash it too. Is this some kind of caching issue?
