Noise not applied to layer when color only

I’m trying to add color noise to a layer in a ztool. When I click on Surface noise, set the strength to 0, and adjust the settings so that I only have noise applied to the color of the model it all looks fine. But when I apply the noise to the mesh it simply does nothing. If I get rid of the layer and then try, the noise works OK. Is it possible to apply color noise to a layer?
Steps to reproduce

  1. create a polyshpherer, sculpt, subdivide to ~1mill polys, add poly paint.
  2. create a layer on ztool
  3. activate noise, adjust as desired, set strength to 0, and turn on color blend.
  4. hit OK, you can see color noise.
  5. hit Apply to Mesh, and it fails

If you adjust hte strength, then the deformation will come through, but all the color blend info is lost, no color noise is applied.

I’m on Win7 64 bit, Zbrush 4R5

works for me

You can’t apply color with noise though, you have to mask by noise and then fill that layer with color. You can’t use color.fill object though for some reason, you just have to paint the mask. I believe you can’t use fill object when you’re working with a layer, but I could be wrong on that end.

Thanks, I guess that will have to work. Seems weird that it can’t handle this though. Should this be submitted to support as a bug?
