No way to get a symmetrical Move Transpose?

I’ve been having some serious issues with the move transpose in ZBrush 3.5r3 and the current ‘solution’ isn’t enough. Whenever I try to scale the unmasked selection (click an endpoint on the action line and drag), the entire mesh distorts horribly in a way completely unrelated to what the line dictates.

The ‘solution’ I found in the forums here is to turn off symmetry. That’d be great, but I don’t have time to sit through 5+ minutes of Smart ReSym-ing, which may or may not produce the results I want, for something that could be done - and had been done in previous versions - in less than 10 seconds.

Is there no true solution to fix this?

Here’s pics of the problem itself, taken in ZBrush 3.5r3.

Im having the same problem here. Thats is frustrating!

The solution you said of mask smartResym works, but anyway, In zbrush 3.1 wasnt like that. It work properly in 3.1

also the scale doesnt work in symmetry mode as work in non-symmetry mode since zbrush 3.1, what was kind of annoying already. But now move too?

when transpose move is in a symmetry mode, it just do a random distortion!!!

=/ is there something we can do about?

nobody?

come on, I cant believe just me is getting this problem!

nope. for some reason it is broken now…worked in 3.0.
anyway, simply turn off sym, hide half the mesh, do your transforms, smart resym.

hope that helps.

Yer right, Transpose is borked in sym mode.

Pixologic: You need to tighten up your testing and code reviews. This is a big regression.

Since Pixologic lacks a public facing bug system, I have filed a support ticket with them.

Nice, I hope they notice that and fix somehow

Yeah, that’s some crappy stuff… I got used to doing the modifications on half of the character without symmetry, no hiding needed but that’s smart idea. Anyway it works as long as the topo is symmetrical but zsphere topos are not always symmetrical so watch out for that.

i have to say this totally sucks, and not because of hands, etc, which can be resymmed although a pain, but try it with something using radial symmetry and you’re screwed.
i made a similar thread but no response. i too hope this is changed back.
