I am fairy new to zbrush. I am working on a character I sculpted, normal mapped, and textured. I want to make some nice renders of the high poly for a comparison sheet to the normal mapped low poly but I am not sure how. I am familiar with 3dsmax so simple directions should be enough. Looking at all the cool dominance war finalists, people render their high polys with awesome soft lighting and I would love to do the same. Can anyone walk me through it?
Well, thats a pretty diverse subject that takes a lot of skill and experience in itself. There is no such thing as “simple directions”.
So, read all the Zbrush documentation, do the tutorials, then look for tutorials about the workflow between the specific application you want to use, as it is different for all of them. Heres some recent threads I found on 3ds max with a simple search: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=75340

I’m sure you can google for many others, though information is still being updated for 3.5, and not complete as of yet.
I understand that it isn’t “simple.” I just wanted to see what kind of methods people used. Right now, I have a decimated mesh of around 700,000 polys in max. I just wanted to know if people had some tips on what direction I can go to get some nice renders?
